What does it mean for one thing to lay into another thing, in a way that it belongs? In a way that the surface looks new? There are parallels between historic inlay crafts from India and contemporary politics of migration and consequent assimilation, that I have not deciphered yet. This new undertaking delves into my intuition with hope to discover patterns that offer an aesthetic philosophy of the inlay, be it material craft, soil agriculture or human migration.
