Puffy glass
In 2005, I Developed Puffy Glass, a curious concoction kneaded from powdered glass, all purpose flour and other baking ingredients such as eggs and yeast. The resultant material is porous, filled with air pockets like bread, and rather lightweight.
Since then, my efforts seek to build an artistic and technical vocabulary for this new sculptural medium, which pushing the boundaries of what glass can be when it contains residual organic particles in its matrix. Currently, Puffy Glass looks to the human hand to grow plants on its sculptural and presumably sterile surface.
