“Biological craftspersonship”

Describes the nature of creation of an object whose material, behavior or process is derived from biological entities such as plants and animals.

“Crowd-created entities”

Are built, nurtured, completed and destroyed by the small, often anonymous, actions of many participants in social space, as embodiment of distributed authorship.

Indian craft heritage

India is home to many unique craft traditions, including glass. This socially focussed research, studied consistently over many years, seeks potential lines of intersection between traditional crafts that risk being lost in years to come and contemporary studio art that benefits from non-insular perspective of material culture. My recent involvement has been with glass bangle-making.
